Bar Manager – Cana (Unordinary Hospitality Group)
Cana is a Brazilian cocktail bar and restaurant rooted in vibrant South American spirit, located in the heart of Adams Morgan and part of the Unordinary Hospitality Group. Our concept celebrates Brazil — from cachaça to caipirinhas, from Authentic Brazilian culinary roots to contemporary flavors and techniques.
This is more than just a management position. We’re looking for someone who is passionate about cocktails, leadership, and guest experience — someone who can take ownership of the bar, guide a team, and raise the standard every shift. The Bar Manager will work closely with ownership and upper management to execute an evolving beverage program, lead staff training, and serve as a cultural anchor for the bar’s energy and hospitality.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as the face of Cana’s bar , representing the venue with charisma, integrity, and professionalism
Lead the day-to-day operations of the bar team — from service flow to prep standards to team morale
Execute, maintain, and evolve the cocktail program , working in collaboration with leadership on menu development and seasonal changes
Train, mentor, and coach bartenders and support staff to deliver consistent and elevated service
Ensure adherence to cleanliness, sanitation, safety, and inventory procedures
Handle scheduling, purchasing, cost tracking, and vendor management in partnership with upper management
Participate in industry events and community building to extend Cana’s reach in DC’s hospitality scene
Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of experience as a bar manager or senior bartender in a high-volume, quality-focused venue
Deep knowledge of spirits, cocktails, wine, and bar operations
Proven leadership and team development experience
Strong organizational and communication skills
Genuine love of hospitality, collaboration, and guest satisfaction
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
Strong network or ties to the DC hospitality industry is a big plus
Bilingual (English/Portuguese or Spanish) is a bonus, not a requirement
Compensation & Perks:
Competitive hourly + tip share or salaried structure (based on experience)
Paid Time Off
Health insurance + wellness perks
Complimentary daily meals
Dining discounts across Unordinary Hospitality properties
Ongoing opportunities for growth and development within our group
