The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of post-bar business law experience. The attorney will handle all aspects of business law including: financings, acquisition/sale transactions, corporate law, business contract drafting, tax planning, and business advisory services.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Counsel clients on a variety of business law matters, including corporate governance, acquisitions and sales, financing transactions, reorganizations, tax planning, human resources, regulatory compliance, and business agreement drafting and advisory services.
• Draft, review, and negotiate complex business agreements
• Advise clients on tax planning strategies
• Assist clients in business-formation, structuring, and organizational matters, including entity selection, incorporation, and corporate restructuring.
• Support the growth and development of other practice areas with in the firm as it grows

REQUIREMENTS:

• Juris Doctor (JD) or LLB degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the bar and in good standing with the Law Society of Alberta.
• 3+ years of post-JD/LLB experience in business/transactional/corporate law
• Proficiency in a second language is preferred
• The ability to bring existing clients with you is a huge plus and highly encouraged
