An Anesthesia Technician 2 is a healthcare professional who assists anesthesiologists and other medical staff in the administration of anesthesia to patients. They are responsible for preparing and maintaining anesthesia equipment, monitoring patients during procedures, and ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of anesthesia. Anesthesia Technicians 2 may also assist with patient positioning, airway management, and the insertion of intravenous lines. They work closely with the anesthesia team to provide high-quality care and ensure patient safety throughout the perioperative period. Participates in department and organizational performance improvement activities Provides care according to established procedures and protocols Ensures that instrumentation and equipment is properly cleaned, prepared and assembled and in proper working order Maintains all required documentation of scheduled service on Anesthesia equipment Remains alert to changes in patient condition and reports to anesthesiologist, clinician of operations or Manager Utilizes appropriate conflict management skills Completes assignments and delegated responsibilities within the established time frame Promotes a positive image of nursing and the organization through professional conduct, appearance, and communication Supports unit and organizational mission and goals Participates in orientation and education of new employees and students Attends all annual and mandatory in-services, required meetings and continuing education programs Works collaboratively with other departments in achieving patient care goals Maintains flexibility in work assignments Qualifications Education High School Diploma or GED Certification Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) through American Red Cross or American Heart Association Experience Have a national certification and maintain annual recertification Communication: Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with anesthesiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals Attention to Detail: Skill in accurately documenting patient information and monitoring vital signs during procedures Problem-Solving: Ability to quickly assess and respond to equipment malfunctions or changes in patient status Teamwork: Capability to work effectively within a team, supporting the anesthesia provider and adapting to dynamic surgical environments Patient Care: Ability to provide compassionate care and support to patients preoperatively and postoperatively Ability to comprehend sterile field and cleanliness protocols Tampa General Hospital
